Do not worry because you certainly are not the only one suffering from this condition. Almost everyone goes through this in life and the stress can lead to depression in some cases. Usually in this situation people ask you to simply distract yourself from the current situation. Most people then end up being addicted to alcohol or become smokers. The key is to distract yourself into something healthy. Adapt a new activity that you can perform every time those thoughts start creeping back in your mind.

For example start working out at home or join a gym. If that is too much then learn to cook and soon you will find yourself indulged in an activity that not only gives you the satisfaction of being good but also gives you pleasure.

Just stay silent and let it all simmer down to a point where it no longer affects you anymore and you can easily look past through this and move on. It will free your soul of any negative feelings of revenge or letting the other person know their worth. When you are kind to them you are already one step ahead of them in life because you know better that animosity and hate will lead you nowhere in life.

So be kind because kindness always finds its way back and repays you in the most beautiful way one can imagine. Whenever you feel like the situation is getting out of hand just take a time out, think about the color black and just breathe. Do not stop taking deep breaths until and unless you find yourself under control again. Take as much time as you want, be in your happy place and relax.

Do not let the pressure of forgetting someone take control over your mind and seep into your soul. Instead, make an exercise out of it. Every time you feel like the pressure is too much, just stop everything, sit down for a minute and breathe. This will really help you to focus on yourself rather than that person. We all know that worry only takes a person down the hill.

You worry too much because that face is everywhere around you and one day you fall apart and face a nervous breakdown. You get weaker and weaker every day and who knows that one thing becomes the cause of death for you. Try to take things easier and lighter and if you feel trapped by the thoughts then you always have the option to consider therapy.

Make sure that you know your life is a gift from God and you should not be wasting it on unnecessary thoughts. Things like this require patience and time. Figuring out what to do is one thing and waiting for the results to be shown is another. Many people lose patience on the second step and all their hard work goes to waste. It takes time to forget things and people but it is not impossible. All you need is your daily reminder and breathers and you are all good to go. Do not try to find shortcuts or unexpected hook ups in the search of throwing someone out of your mind because that never helps.

Do not let anybody blame you for something you have not done. The manipulation can corrode your mind and you start to believe that, yes, you are the main reason behind your own suffering. Yes you have feelings but who does not? Ask yourself just one question. Can you give anybody the slightest right to call you someone who you are not or cannot even become? Does anyone have any right over what you feel and how you behave in a relationship? Only you have it and nobody can take it from you.

For once do not try to make things right. Sit back and relax and watch what happens. Take a long vacation and visit your parents or that beach you always wanted to go. Do not think. Do not try to make anything right. Just get away from the whole situation and see how it all then affects you. Sometimes all you need is to escape.

Once you are free from all the responsibilities and your duties as a person, you are free to enjoy your life and think less. You might meet new people who are actually worthy of being a part in your life and the socializing can help you forget all about the person killing your brain cells. Make a mental box and collect all the memories you have of that person with you in that box. Shut it down, lock it twice, put chains around it and throw it into the sea.

It is not as simple as it sounds but it clearly helps if you do it the right way. If you do not want to throw it in the sea then bury it somewhere far far away so that it can never come back.
