Dead phone? The photos on it may still live on the web
Thanks to the Find My feature an iOS 13 combination of the apps Find My iPhone and Find My Friends , it's possible to know exactly where your iPhone is at any time — which is great for those occasions when you misplace your phone, but is even more critical if it's ever stolen. And phone tracking isn't limited to your own iPhone. Using Family Sharing, you can check on the location of up to five important people in your life as well.
If that prospect sounds a bit creepy, don't worry; everyone has to opt into this feature, so you can't track a spouse or kid without their permission.
On the next page, tap the switch next to "Share My Location" so it turns green. Make sure to start sharing your location. On the next page, tap the switch next to "Find My iPhone" to activate it and reveal two more options. Enable all these settings if you want to have the most information about where your iPhone is. You'll now be able to track your iPhone using the Find My app on another Apple device, or iCloud's website as depicted below.
You'll need to go through your iCloud settings. Be sure to enable "Send Last Location" so that you can find your phone even if the battery dies. Now that Find My iPhone is turned on, you can see the location of your phone in the Find My iPhone app on another one of your iOS devices, or in any web browser. By turning on Send Last Location, you'll be able to see the phone's last known location even if it was turned off or the battery died.
You may need to log in with your Apple ID and password, but you won't need to enter a two-factor authentication code, because the intent here is that you don't have the phone and therefore can't retrieve the code. You can track the location of your phone from any device, as long as you can get to a web browser. At this point, you can zoom in or out on the map to get a better look at the location, or you can use the controls on-screen to play a sound if the phone is powered on, it will play a siren-like sound , enter Lost Mode which can display a message on the screen for anyone who finds it or erase the phone's contents which you'll only want to do if it's stolen or presumed lost forever.
With their permission, you can track the phones of up to five other people using Family Sharing. This is handy to keep tabs on kids or for partners to quickly see where the other person is. Setting it up is easy, but whoever you track will need to perform some steps and enter their password. After you turn on Family Sharing, you can track the phones of any anyone you add to your family group.
Tap "Add Family Member…" and then choose how you want to invite them to be tracked. If you choose "Invite in Person," your family member will be invited to enter their Apple ID and password directly into your iPhone. After accepting the invitation, your family member will also need to turn on Location Sharing they'll be prompted to do this.
You can track everyone in your Family Group from the same map. Account icon An icon in the shape of a person's head and shoulders.

I occasionally encounter smartphone users who, for whatever reason, refuse to use the online backup, storage and sharing features — known generically as cloud services — associated with them. Their arguments range from budgetary to fear that the phone or its data will be hacked, to the possibility that the companies involved will see or misuse their data. But that mistrust and suspicion turns to anguish and despair when the phone is damaged and the data on it is lost. This commonly happens when the device falls into water.
Our Weird & Wild Experiences Using ‘Find My Friends’
She went out with friends after work to celebrate somebody's birthday. I opted to stay in and go to bed at a decent hour because I have work in the morning, and also because I am lame. But now I'm awake, staring at the little circular blip on my phone, waiting for it to move. The blip is in Google Maps, which offers the ability to share your location with others. My girlfriend and I had been living together for about a year when she granted me indefinite access to her whereabouts. Since then, my app has kept track of her at all hours with what looks like a cartoon speech bubble—a circle with a small arrow poking out to indicate her exact location. Right now, it shows her stuck in an alleyway in downtown San Francisco. Her icon is grayed out. People have been tracking other people for much longer than smartphones have existed, but modern technology makes it easier than ever. Dodgeball , a precursor to Foursquare, was founded in as an SMS-based tracking service; it let users broadcast their location to friends via text.
Find My Friends: A Cool, Creepy and Life-Saving App
I know this is not actually true, because generations of people did it, but it is true for me: I bought my first smartphone in , my first summer in the city, solely for Google Maps. What I wanted most was the sense of shared plot, by way of literal plotting. The idea was that I could wake up and watch them. When we made dinner plans, I could catch them exactly as they rounded the corner to the restaurant.
If you need to find and track a lost iPhone, using the Find My app to locate your iPhone is the easiest method. If you've enabled the Find My iPhone feature in the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, you can use Find My to locate the missing device, even if it's powered down or the battery's dead. Sign up to iPhone Life's Tip of the Day Newsletter and we'll send you a tip each day to save time and get the most out of your iPhone or iPad. But even if your battery is dead or the Wi-Fi and cellular data are turned off, you can usually still find your iPhone.
Find My Friends: Voluntary Stalking Made Simple
Find My Friends. Here's an app so powerful it's apparently broken up a marriage less than a week after it hit the App Store shelves. OK, fine, what really broke up the marriage was probably the cheating, or at least the suspicion of cheating. The app just revealed a little sneaking around.SEE VIDEO BY TOPIC: dear ex best friend - original song by tate mcrae
Maud Deckmar tells a touching and honest story of living with Fred, her eldest child, who has autism and an intellectual disability. She recounts here the great struggles and sorrows as well as the love and happiness she has experienced from his early childhood to adulthood. She vividly describes the feelings of grief after Fred's diagnosis, the sense of loss when old friends distance themselves and the pervasive feelings of guilt about putting her son into care and admitting that she can no longer cope. She stresses the importance of communication and cooperation between parents and carers, and encourages them to find ways to provide the best possible support, based on specific needs and means available. Her unflinching account will resonate with and give support, comfort and courage to parents in a similar situation.
