Find a vegan boyfriend
In your list of all the things you want in a partner, or heck, just a date, they need to be polite, fun, attractive and able to carry their own weight as in split the bill. But it would also be nice to find someone who is eating the same way you are: Vegan, plant-based or mostly plant-forward. Vegans were not asked if they wanted to date a meat-eater, as far as we know, and by the proliferation of apps and sites and meetups and matchmakers dedicated to helping vegans find each other, it seems the answer is no. They'd rather date someone who will hold the bacon, not bring it home.SEE VIDEO BY TOPIC: A woman must confess her love of meat to her vegan boyfriend before he meets her family. - Facon

I Tried to Find Love On Vegan Dating Apps
No negotiations there. Long hair would be nice, as would a passion for alternative medicine, longevity and animal rights. Not fussy at all. I remember my very first boyfriend. I was 14, and was more interested in the fact that a boy actually liked me than I was about his health habits, or whether he had a positive relationship with his mother. Needless to say that relationship was short lived. I went through a steady flow of short lived romances while I was in my teens.
None of them vegetarian, let alone vegan. This changed once I went vegan. Meat became just so off-putting, because I was beginning to associate it with what it really is - a dead being, and milk and eggs were even worse.
It became, and is still, the biggest passion of my life. It was about a month after I made the switch that I met a boy. I was in Year 11 at school and had been keen on him for a while. He became the centre of my adolescent life as we moved through school and graduated together - but it was only after nearly two years of dating that I started to talk about what I needed in a partnership. He slowly shifted into veganism the more I talked about it, but never really grasped the reasoning behind it.
As I moved on from that relationship I started to consider what I needed. I knew that I wanted a vegan partner, but I really wanted one that was as passionate about it as I was. Not somebody that I had to convince. Enter Jordan stage right! I met Jords by chance one night at a gig after coming out of a year long relationship. I desperately wanted to see where this relationship could potentially go, but knew that I had to be true to myself and my values.
I was willing to accept that he could potentially have taken that information, said it was all too much and called it off. Jordan picked up on veganism instantly! Our first dates were all at vegan restaurants - that he chose, and he now eats the same food as I do with a serious exception for ginger beer.
He is interested and listens when I talk about food and healing, chose to go without the unnecessary antibiotics given to him and makes such wise choices when it comes to his body and even mine. I guess the moral of this story is that if you are looking for a certain type of person in you life - then ask for them!
Living your passion in everything you do will influence others to do the same. In fact, Jordan often tells me that my passion for the things I love is one of the things he likes most about me!
Not everybody is going to be the same as Jordan, and I am truly blessed to have found someone who supports and listens to my passions as much as he does.
I have what I want because I asked, its as simple as that and you can too. Home Blog Recipes My Food ask. The metaphorical pool of eligible men Just. About go vegan and practice your yoga on the front lawn. Recipes loading tags.

Grazer screengrabs by author. Herbivore hook-up sites have been around for years now, but until recently I've not heard much from my vegan friends about them. Like everyone else, they mostly stick to Tinder, or Bumble, or talking to real people with their mouths. As a vegan myself, I wondered if the record amount of people apparently doing "Veganuary" this year might prompt an uptick in the number of people using these apps. To investigate, I decided to sign up to a few them and have a flick through in the hope I'd find a more compassionate, animal-friendly partner or whatever it is people use these things for. First up, I downloaded Hunny Bee, which is basically a shit Bumble. I found it weird they named the app after a food vegans actively avoid, but then remembered I'm a bad vegan who sometimes eats honey, shrugged and moved on. Since I was there to find a date, not manage my finances, I passed on this and got to work filling out my profile. Four guys did eventually pop up, who I swiped right on for the sake of it, but none messaged me. They must have smelt the Honey Nut Shredded Wheat on my breath.

Maya Gottfried talks to The Independent about the best places to meet fellow vegans and if a vegan and meat-eater can ever truly be compatible. It's a particularly restrictive diet — meat is obviously off limits, but so are eggs, cheese and chocolate. In a relatively meat-and-dairy obsessed society where the dating world typically revolves around eating out, it can make dating — and finding a partner who either respects or is in line with vegan values — difficult. Maya Gottfried, a New York-based writer who turned vegan eight years ago, has collated advice on how to navigate the dating world when you are meat, egg, dairy and leather-free into a new book Vegan Love: Dating and Partnering for the Cruelty-Free Gal.
